'you are so loved'

Hello girls....how are all my crafty friends?
I was really honored to win a challenge over at the 'Scraps N' Pieces' blog last month.
It was one of my favourite layouts I've ever created.... you can see it here....
This is what I came up with to Guest Design this month.

'you are so loved'

Here is the beautiful moodboard that they sent me to work with...gorgeous turquoise with gold.
I just realized today that I should have posted this way earlier in the month as the challenge is closed, but even if it's too late to join in this month I hope you'll visit their blog, lots of lovely work to be seen and inspired by and a great challenge every month.

Here are a few close ups....

 I found this photo of my little boy when he was just a few days old;
I thought it fit the theme of 'you are so loved' perfectly.
I created some texture in the background with heavy white gesso through a brick mask,
and then added a Lindy's Stamp Gang Spray called 'TiffanyLou Blue'.

I embossed a bit of chipboard with gold embossing powder and
added some gold thread and some Prima flowers.

Thanks so much for dropping by!
Have a wonderful weekend...

'captured memories'

Hello scrappy friends :)
I love working with my collection of Lindy's Stamp Gang inks so much, I especially love the Starburst inks, they are two toned, with a real shimmery undertone to them. My favourite one is called Bucaneer Bronze, a rich brown with gold shine that I use quite often. I felt so inspired by a great sketch I found on the blog ScrapMemory, a beautiful challenge blog that I visit often but have never entered.

'captured memories'

I created this layout using the April kit from Scraps of Elegance. I started with the Prima paper 'Princess Papillon' from the Butterfly collection as my background, and then using my inks I painted on two large circles as the base of my design. Then I used the Prima stamp 'Peeled Paint' that came with kit with brown ink.

I added some of the Prima Butterfly flowers and also some leaves that I cut out of paper scraps using the Prima leaf dies. The little white bee resins also came with the kit.

Here is the beautiful sketch I found on ScrapMemory...

'amour' a new layout for Kiev Skrapklub

Hello girls...Happy friday! Soooo glad we are coming up on Memorial Day weekend!
I hope everyone has a wonderful, relaxing day with hopefully some creative time squeezed in there.
I was invited by the girls over at Kiev Skrapklub to Guest Design this month using one of their beautiful sketches and this is what I came up with....

'amour'

I started with some of the 'Timeless Memories' Prima paper for my base and added torn strips of various papers in the background, then using a Tim Holtz swirl mask spread some gesso around the page. While the gesso is still wet, I added some Prima glass beads. Then I added some layers of chipboard, a bit of lace and some flowers.

Here is the new sketch...

For more info on this challenge please go here...
My creativity has been coming in fits and starts these past few weeks....trying out some new things, not being happy with the results...does that ever happen to any of you?
That's why I am so in love with sketches and challenges...they sort of guide me through all the millions of ideas in my head and help me focus :)
Here are a few close ups...

I love this Prima paper collection! Beautiful subtle patterns in the background...
I played off of the very light blues and toffee colors in the paper with some 13 arts inks.

Thank you so much for every visit and comment...
sometimes your kind words help me get through when I feel 'stuck'...
And also a big shoutout to all my new blog readers...welcome!!!
One of the best parts of creating art is sharing it :)

Hugs, Lisa xo

'picture of you'

Hello girls! How are you all?
I am dropping in to share my latest layout for Pion Design using their
gorgeous collection 'Vintage Wedding'.

'picture of you'

To visit the Pion Design blog please go here...

Here is the Vintage Wedding collection...

Here are a few close ups...

I started by cutting up some squares of vintage pages from a book and glueing them down in my background.
Then I stenciled over them with heavy gesso with a Prima mask.
Once I had layered on my flowers and embellishments I used some Lindy's mists
in different shades of peach, brown and copper.

One of the last steps was to add some gold micro spheres and some Prima gold glass glitter.

See you soon,
Lisa xo

'Butterfly' a new layout for Scraps of Elegance

Good evening scrappy friends....

I was so happy to open up the April kit from Scraps of Elegance this month
and find such pretty papers and flowers.....

'butterfly'

Included in the kit was the 'Butterfly' collection by Prima and also some gorgeous Bo Bunny papers.
Here is the kit for April called 'Lynne's Garden Terrace' named after our designer Lynne Joncas.
You can find Lynne's blog here.

A few close ups....

There were some gorgeous metal pieces that I tucked into the flowers and into the torn paper.
The Tim Holtz metal frame was a perfect look for my super vintage design.

Beautiful Prima flowers from the same collection. I tucked in some Blue Fern Studios chipboard pieces that I painted white and then softened with Vintage Photo ink.

This was the first time I had ever used the Magical Pigment Powder from Lindy's Stamp Gang and I loved it. It had a beautiful shimmer to it and I loved the almost two toned color, bright purple with a teal undertone.

Thanks for looking,
Lisa xo
