'My happy place...'

Hello dear readers.....we here in the South are DEEP into the hottest,
stickiest most sun-drenched summer I can remember, and my latest layout
is really a reflection of the beauty and taste of the ocean, the best place to be
to enjoy the sun.

'My happy place...'

I love this BoBunny paper from the 'Serendipity' collection and the wood pattern and natural
tones gave me the idea to do a beachy page. I used a chipboard circle from Blue Fern Studios
that I bought from the online Scraps of Darkness store, and also added one from my stash,
a 2 Crafty title that fit my page great.
I also used the Gabrielle Pollaco stamp, the Tim Holtz blue distress ink pad,
the blue gems, the tiny brown bottle and some blue 49 & Market flowers,
all from the June Main kit and the various add ons.

You can purchase our monthly kits here,
and don't forget to checkout our blog here.

I would like to enter my layout in a challenge about sunny holidays that I found
on the blog 'Create Dreams'. I was inspired by the girls on the beach, the light
airy colors and the holiday mood.

Here is the moodboard:

'Always Follow your Dreams...'

Hello my sweet crafty friends. I have another layout to share that I made using
the 'Birds of a Feather' kit from Scraps of Elegance using the BoBunny
collection called 'Serendipity'.

'Always follow your dreams...'

I cut out the two blue birds from one of the kit papers and glued them down the sides,
I adore anything with birds as that's Liam's nick name he's had since he was this small :)
I added some heavy white gesso and some watercolors and then added a clock
chipboard and a sweet title from 2 Crafty, some BoBunny die cuts and chipboards
from the Main kit, and some flowers from one of our previous kits.

You can find our kits and many more crafty supplies at the
Scraps of Darkness online store here.

'Dream, Live, Love'

Hi girls! I'm back with another 13 arts layout, this one featuring Aida's new
collection, 'Art Journey'. Aida has been someone that I have looked up to for a long time...
I remember years ago I first saw her art posted on scrapbook.com, and it was then that I was
just discovering the mixed media world and I was so in love with her layouts.
It's such an honor to be on her team and design with her products :)
This collection, is fun, funky and really playful, just like how I imagine
Aida is in real life :) One day I hope to meet her in person.

'Dream, Live, Love'

This layout is all about my son and how much I adore staring at his sweet little face,
even while he is sleeping :)
I started with the paper 'Dream' and wanted to created a light airy page all about
the hopes and dreams I have for him as he grows up.
I used Aida's new chipboard set as a focal point of the page, and lots of
Ayeeda's Paints on my background.

You can find this new collection and all the amazing embellishments,
stencils, cool stickers that go with it here in the online store.
And to see these great new collections in action please check
out Aida's blog here.

small silicone molds...I've been wanting to try these for a long time! They are so easy to
use too, just press the paper clay in the mold, carefully remove, and then let dry overnight.
That is how I created this heart frame under my photo. I'll be using more of these little molds
in my future projects for sure. You can find them in the 13 arts store right here.

'Happy Time' a new layout for 13arts

Hello lovely readers, I'm back to share with you a layout I created
using the 13arts collection  'Aria Story'.

'Happy Time'

I thought the chevron pattern in my grandma's dress matched perfectly with the chevrons on the paper
'Street's Rhythm' from the lovely 'Aria Story' collection designed by Aida, so
I tried to repeat the pattern with some wash tapes and also a 13 arts stencil.
I love this collection! There's so many ways to go with the colors, as the soft grey is a subtle base
that can be paired with lots different color combinations. I thought about going light and
sweet for a happy mood to this page so I chose some yellow and pink flowers and used
some 13 arts Splash ink in the same pretty colors.

I followed the 13arts sketch for the month of July with this layout...
Did you know that we run a challenge every month with some great prizes

'Nevada City'

Hi guys:)
We have a wonderful new challenge over at Mixed Media & Art, it
requires letters and a handmade background. I love our moodboards,
the kind that really make the wheels in your head start turning:)

'Nevada City'

This layout turned out to be second in my mini series of pages with an Americana feel to them.
I imagined this elegant young lady as a daughter of the English industrial revolution who
immigrated to America looking for a new life.
Following our amazing new moodboard, I created an intricate, messy background
filled with lots of layers of heavy white gesso, letters stencils, and inks.

Here is the new challenge:

I have to pinch myself every time I see my work on this blog,
I can't believe the amount of pure talent these girls show with every
project, technically so flawless and so creative!
We have great prizes to be won too:)
More info on this challenge here.

Here are a few details:

I used a piece of Blue Fern Studios paper from the 'Chesterfield' collection. Love these papers!
So perfect for a grungy artsy page.

To alter my 2 Crafty Chipboard letters and gears, I first covered them in white gesso, and
heated then on high so that the gesso bubbles and cracks. Then I painted them unevenly
with a little bit of black watercolor, and then finally, embossed them in copper
embossing powder to give them an aged metallic look.

I hope that you feel inspired to join us :)
Lisa xo
